Welcome to Bistro Hanoi in Dübendorf!

In spring 2021 we heard that the Vietnamese restaurant Non La was for sale. At the same time, Christoph was about to retire. Huyen had been cooking in a Vietnamese restaurant in Zurich for over 4 years and had been dreaming of his own restaurant for a long time...

Suddenly everything fell into place and it happened very quickly. On August 9, 2021   the time had come: We were able to open the Bistro Hanoi restaurant. The new name is intended to show that Huyen cooks as a North Vietnamese. She hails from Thanh Hoa 170 km south of Hanoi.

With the opening of Bistro Hanoi, we want to bring authentic Vietnamese cuisine closer to the Zurich Oberland.

A highlight are certainly the soups Pho Bo, Bun Bo Hue and Bun Rieu. Every Vietnamese restaurant keeps the secret of the corresponding bouillon. Only one thing is certain.. it is made in a 8 - 12 hour and gentle cooking process. Huyen has refined our recipe on the advice of some friends from Vietnam, Switzerland and overseas who run restaurants themselves.

The Nem Ran Hanoi rolls... also a specialty of Huyen have meanwhile gotten a real following! 

 

Another highlight is the use of various fresh herbs. Various rice dishes and fried dishes complete the menu.

What is special about Vietnamese cuisine is that it is healthy, easily digestible, rarely greasy and rarely extremely spicy. In addition, most of the dishes are gluten-free.

​

The story goes on. We've been on the road for more than a year and a half now and have many regular customers. During the rush hour at 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. we are almost always fully booked. A reservation is therefore recommended. 

 

We can therefore only serve take-away requests by telephone agreement. Our guests in the bistro have priority.
